About Bioidentical Hormone Therapy

Bioidentical hormones are compounds that are molecularly identical — at the atomic level — to the hormones naturally produced by your body. Bioidentical estradiol, for example, has the exact same molecular structure as the estradiol your ovaries produced during your reproductive years. This is in contrast to synthetic hormones, which are chemically modified versions that your body processes differently.

The molecular identity matters because your hormone receptors are designed to work with your body's natural hormones. Bioidentical hormones bind to receptors the same way, follow the same metabolic pathways, and are processed by the same enzymes — which is the basis for the clinical advantages they offer relative to structurally different synthetics.

Some are, some aren't — depending on whether they are manufactured commercially or compounded. There are several FDA-approved bioidentical hormone products (including certain estradiol patches, gels, and oral progesterone capsules). Compounded bioidentical hormones — which are prepared by a licensed pharmacy to an individualized prescription — are not FDA-approved as specific products, but the base hormones they use are regulated substances, and the pharmacies that prepare them are licensed and regulated at the state level.

The program at Eternal MedSpa uses compounded preparations, which allow for the individualized dosing and formulation that the BRITE™ clinical system requires. Your provider can discuss this distinction in detail at your consultation.

The Women's Health Initiative (WHI) study — the one that generated much of the public concern about hormone therapy — studied synthetic hormone therapy, not bioidentical hormones. Specifically, it studied conjugated equine estrogen (derived from horse urine) combined with a synthetic progestogen called medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA). These are structurally different from human hormones, and structurally different from what is used in a bioidentical program.

Subsequent research — including reanalysis of the WHI data itself and more recent prospective studies — has produced a substantially more favorable picture for bioidentical hormone therapy, particularly for women who begin treatment in the early years of menopause and use transdermal (rather than oral) delivery. The science is nuanced and evolving. Your Eternal provider can walk you through the current evidence base relevant to your specific situation at your consultation.

Safety is highly individual and depends on your personal and family health history, the specific hormones used, the dosing approach, the delivery method, and the quality of ongoing monitoring. The current medical literature is most supportive of bioidentical hormone therapy — particularly transdermal delivery — when initiated appropriately, dosed accurately, and monitored continuously by a qualified provider.

This is precisely why the program at Eternal MedSpa is structured as it is: ongoing clinical oversight, regular lab monitoring, and dose adjustments over time. Hormone therapy managed responsibly and monitored continuously is a fundamentally different proposition than hormones prescribed once and left to run unmonitored.

Absolutely. Male hormone decline — andropause — is real, clinically significant, and underdiagnosed. Testosterone begins declining in men at approximately 1–2% per year starting in the 30s, and the cumulative effects by the 40s, 50s, and beyond can be profound: fatigue, muscle loss, abdominal fat gain, mood changes, reduced libido, brain fog, and loss of drive.

The Eternal Vitality program serves both men and women. Men's plans start at $329/month. Comprehensive lab work is required before treatment begins for male patients — a clinical necessity for safe testosterone optimization.

The BRITE™ System

BRITE™ is a complete clinical platform — not a pharmacy or a hormone brand — built by Dr. Daved Rosensweet, one of the most experienced bioidentical hormone practitioners in the United States. The system provides clinical decision support for dosing, compliance technology through a patient app, and 100% certified organic hormone formulations.

What it means for patients: you receive a level of precision, monitoring infrastructure, and formulation quality that most hormone programs don't offer. The organic base is particularly significant — patients absorb more than a quart of base material per year through daily topical application, and BRITE™ uses zero chemical solvents in its formulations.

The BRITE™ app serves as your daily program interface. It delivers dosing reminders at the exact times your provider set, sends clinical questionnaires that track your progress over time, allows you to request prescription refills, provides patient education content about your protocol, and facilitates communication with your care team. When your provider adjusts your prescription, the app updates automatically — you always have the current protocol at hand.

Most patients applying topical hormones focus entirely on the hormone itself — but the base (the carrier material the hormone is suspended in) makes up the vast majority of what is actually absorbed. Over the course of a year of daily application, a patient absorbs well over a quart of base material. In most conventional and compounded topical hormone products, that base contains chemical penetration enhancers, synthetic solvents, and petrochemical-derived ingredients.

BRITE™ eliminates this entirely. Their formulations use 100% certified organic oil bases with zero chemical solvents. Same bioidentical hormones — meaningfully cleaner delivery. For patients with chemical sensitivities, toxic load concerns, or simply a preference for what they're absorbing daily, this distinction is clinically relevant, not cosmetic.

Getting Started & Lab Work

Women: Women can begin their Eternal Vitality membership right away. Lab work is strongly recommended — and may be required based on your health history — but is not an absolute requirement for all female patients to start their membership.

Men: Comprehensive lab work is required before prescriptions are issued for male patients. This is a non-negotiable clinical standard. You can begin your membership and complete the consultation process while waiting for lab results, but no prescription will be issued until results are reviewed.

Lab work is arranged through Eternal's network partner lab and is paid directly by the patient. Eternal MedSpa does not mark up or profit from lab fees. The cost varies depending on which panels are ordered, your insurance coverage, and the lab facility used. Your provider will discuss expected costs at your consultation. Many patients find that initial hormone panels run in the range of $100–$300 out of pocket when paying directly to a lab, though this varies.

Possibly. Bring any recent lab work to your consultation and your Eternal provider will review what's there. Whether existing labs are usable depends on what was tested, how recent the results are, and whether the panel covers all the markers needed for your protocol. Many standard primary care hormone panels are incomplete for the purposes of a comprehensive hormone restoration program — but they can still provide useful baseline context.

For women who can begin without labs: the timeline from consultation to receiving your first prescription is typically 7–14 business days — the time required for your prescription to be prepared by the compounding pharmacy and shipped to you.

For patients requiring labs: add the time needed to complete the blood draw (typically available within a few days of ordering) plus 3–7 business days for results. Once results are in and your provider reviews them, prescriptions are transmitted promptly. Most patients with labs start receiving their first prescription within 2–4 weeks of their initial consultation.

Yes, transitions from other hormone programs are common and manageable. Your Eternal provider will want to know exactly what you're currently taking, the doses, and your experience on it — what's working, what isn't. A transition protocol will be designed to avoid abrupt hormonal shifts while moving to the new program. Bring documentation of your current prescriptions and any recent labs to your consultation.

Treatment, Results & Expectations

Most patients begin noticing early improvements — particularly in sleep quality and energy — within the first 2–6 weeks. More comprehensive improvements in mood, libido, cognitive clarity, and hot flash reduction typically become evident within the first 1–3 months. Body composition changes generally require 3–6 months of sustained optimization to become noticeable. The full picture of improvement, for most patients, is clearest at the 3–6 month mark after dosing has been refined through follow-up labs.

Consistency matters enormously. Patients who apply their protocol reliably, engage with the BRITE™ app, and stay connected with their provider progress significantly faster than those who are inconsistent.

For the vast majority of patients, no. The primary hormone delivery method in the Eternal program is transdermal — a topical cream or gel applied to the skin, typically at specific sites on the inner arm, inner wrist, or upper chest area, depending on your protocol. This is applied at home on your own schedule, guided by BRITE™ app reminders. No injections, no in-office procedures for hormone delivery itself.

Monthly wellness injections (B12, NAD+, Glutathione) are administered in-clinic and are included with your membership tier. These are separate from your hormone protocol.

Dose refinement is a normal, expected part of any hormone restoration program. No two people's physiology is identical, and initial protocols are starting points informed by labs and clinical assessment — not final answers. Your BRITE™ app questionnaires and follow-up labs are specifically designed to capture your response and allow your provider to make targeted adjustments. If something doesn't feel right, contact your care team through the app — you are not left to troubleshoot alone.

This is a personal decision that depends on your goals, health status, and how you feel on and off the program. Many patients choose to continue indefinitely because the benefits to quality of life, bone health, cardiovascular function, and cognitive wellbeing are meaningful and sustained. Others may at some point choose to taper. If and when you decide to discontinue, your Eternal provider will design a supervised taper protocol — discontinuation should never be abrupt. Symptom return after stopping is common and expected; that experience itself often clarifies the value of the program for patients who had been uncertain.

Hormone restoration supports body composition — specifically, it can reduce the hormonal drivers of abdominal fat accumulation and muscle loss that characterize hormonal decline. Many patients experience improvement in body composition as a benefit of the program. However, hormone therapy is not a weight loss program, and results in this area are most meaningful when combined with appropriate nutrition and consistent physical activity. Your provider can discuss realistic expectations in the context of your individual situation.

Membership, Costs & Logistics

The Eternal Vitality Collective membership starts at $329/month for men and $349/month for women (Standard tier). The Elevated tier is $379/month (men) or $399/month (women). The Signature tier is $429/month (men) or $449/month (women). All tiers include the full hormone optimization clinical program; higher tiers add aesthetic and wellness enhancements. Lab work, when required, is paid separately and directly to the lab.

This pricing is designed to be accessible — the BRITE™ system is specifically structured to deliver physician-level hormone care at significantly lower cost than traditional private hormone medicine practices. For comparison, many private BHRT programs charge $400–$800/month for a similar or lesser standard of care.

Compounded bioidentical hormone therapy is generally not covered by insurance. Some lab work may be partially covered depending on your plan. We recommend checking with your insurer about lab benefits. The program at Eternal is priced to be competitive and accessible on an out-of-pocket basis — and many patients find the monthly investment compares favorably to the cost of managing the downstream health consequences of untreated hormonal decline over time.

Prescriptions are prepared by a certified compounding pharmacy partner and shipped directly to your home. Prescriptions are issued for 3-month windows, with a streamlined refill process managed through the BRITE™ app. You do not need to visit a pharmacy. Expect your first prescription to arrive within approximately 7–10 business days after your protocol is established and the prescription is transmitted.

Yes. Your membership tier can be adjusted as your needs or preferences change. Contact the Eternal MedSpa team to discuss a tier change and they will facilitate the transition. The clinical hormone optimization component of your program is identical across all tiers — a tier change does not affect your hormone protocol, only the additional aesthetic and wellness benefits included with your membership.

The first step is always a consultation — which has no cost or commitment attached. After your consultation, if you decide to move forward, your Eternal provider will give you a clear picture of what the first 90 days looks like and what to expect. We ask that patients think of the program as a minimum 3-month commitment to give the clinical process time to work — hormones are not fast-acting interventions, and early discontinuation rarely yields meaningful results or a fair assessment of the program. Beyond that, questions about commitment timelines are best discussed directly with your provider at your consultation.
